Tiny House on Wheels in British Columbia on January 4, While volunteering at a cold-weather shelter near my home in Grand Forks, British Columbia, I was consulted about designing transitional housing for the homeless. After some discussions with the staff and guests at the shelter I went home to draft some floor plans that I thought might meet the housing needs of the homeless, with dignity, at a low initial cost.

I was then struck by my incredible hypocrisy.

It was a deal breaker. Kayaking in the Columbia River on Oct 21 — getting ready to ski, now in just a few weeks! Ski Resorts My focus in this article is ski areas in the western states — specifically ski areas with RV parks near enough to make it realistic to live in the park or stay for a few days and travel to and from the mountain daily. Unless otherwise noted, you can expect each of the following RV Parks linked throughout the article to provide running water to your site.

Whether YOU keep it running from the hydrant into your rig is up to you! If you plan to spend the winter at any of these campgrounds, I strongly recommend renting a gallon propane tank contact me privately for recommendations as to who to rent from over using your 30 pound 7 gallon tanks in your RV. When you fill a gallon, you qualify for a quantity discount. As stated above, I wanted to see which RV parks are truly NEAR great skiing, so unless otherwise noted, your site will be within 15 miles of the slopes — and often less — and in some cases, the town or mountain provide mass transit between the campground or near it and the ski hill.

I have also created links to most of the ski areas from within this article to open a new page. I was an instructor there for 3 seasons. This park is much more basic and likely less costly than the RV Resort , and it is closer to Tamarack — which is now the ski area I recommend in this region. I can not currently recommend Brundage in all good conscience due to snow grooming issues that create a DANGEROUS situation in the base area and other management decisions that leave guests with a less than optimal experience.

Tamarack on the other hand is TRYING to earn your business and has some very interesting terrain — and does a great job with snowmaking needed in this region early season and grooming.

Northland RV Park is a full-service campground in Prince George.

Not the maintenance and general upkeep, which still seem good, but the general condition of the units more than one per site in some cases that now seem to occupy a good portion of the park, and the fact that a very high percentage of people here are full time working folks. There really don’t seem to be any rules here! The park itself is still being well maintained at this time, and we may well give it one more go, but if there is no improvement on these issues, we will not likely keep trying.

Just think there should be some truth in advertising here The worst was a new cable setup requiring a cable box. Our internal connections are all hidden and we were not prepared to do major alterations for one stay. Eventually we found a solution that was at the best workable.

Robin and Keith, Thank you so much for everything, and for the African Violet. You both have done such a great job making it much nicer for your guests. Wishing you and your family good health. If I had to choose the nicest resort we’ve ever been to, this one would be it – without question. We booked slightly ahead of the Labour Day weekend and expected to take what we could get, based on the short notice. Besides being wide and spacious, we were an end site – so the grassy area with picnic table that was also part of our site was like having our own personal park!
